On 9 August 2022, Round Table Welkom 40 supported the South African National Blood Service in
Welkom. The Tablers were up early and helped to set up a braai for them. The idea was that every
person that donated blood, would get a boerewors roll.
The blood bank in Welkom has worked very effectively with Welkom 40 over the last few years and
we have provided venues and support for the blood bank where we could. This is also an alliance
project for us.
The day was a massive success and the blood bank managed to accumulate 31 units of blood on the
day. We would like to thank all the members of Welkom 40 that gave up their holiday to help out on
this project.
Welkom 40 would like to thank the SANBS Welkom staff for their friendliness and the hard work
that they are doing in the Welkom community. It is a critical service, and one never knows when you
might need a pint of blood or two.
