Welkom 40 decided that they needed a lekker way to the end of the new year. Normally, we would do it in the form of a
Christmas party, but we decided that we need to change this up a little bit. We decided to do it in the form of a progressive
dinner.
We divided the Tablers and ladies into 4 separate teams and gave them complete free reign to do what they want. It turned
out to be an unmitigated success as the entire Table entered into the spirit of the event!
Festivities started at Stephan and Chane’s house. They put together an incredibly fun carnival theme with all the beautiful
things that go with it. The games were a lot of fun and the competitions kept everyone laughing.
A short trip later and we ended up at Rudolf and Adele’s house for starters. Greeting the Tablers were incredible bruschetta
and jello shots. It started to rain, but nothing could put a dampener on the Tablers’ spirit.
Next up, we picked up our passports and headed across the bridge to Igor’s house in OD. I don’t think we could have laughed
more for the 15-minute ride. Here we were greeted with cocktails and a cheese board. We made use of this opportunity to
hand over Gerhard Botha’s file and welcome him as a new Tabler.
After this, we went back to Welkom for the mains and Jurg and Abby’s house. We packed the entire group into a small garden,
set a table, and sat down for a feast. Roast beef and pampoenkoekies were on the menu, with Hannes and Tonia welcoming
everyone with a Jager and a Melktertjie.
We ended the night at the Clubhouse for dessert hosted by Hennie and Nadia. They went through a huge amount of effort in
decorating the clubhouse. It was an incredible night and everyone stayed – even through the obligatory load-shedding!
